The Eagle Games

Created and Curated by Ken Holm

Lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, late summer. Your cousin Aibek has broken his collarbone five weeks before the nomad games, and he wants you to fly his young golden eagle in the berkutchi contest. Altyn is fast, proud and completely unruly. Your grandmother Gulnara, who won that contest herself forty years ago, says the bird isn't ready. She may be talking about you.
